Stem sizing: Stem length
impacts your riding
position, efficiency and
comfort. If you are male,
and have generally
average upper and lower
body proportions for your
height, the default size in
the specs should be OK for
you. Shorter lengths are
for when the upper body
is proportionally smaller
than average (females
generally fall into this
category), or you want a
more upright position.

people with longer than
average torsos, or for a
more aero position.

Aluminum 4 Bolt Stem
Our standard spec stem is a forged 6061 aluminum,
0 degree rise (parallel to the ground), for 1 1/8"
threadless steerer tube and 26.0mm diameter
handlebar center section. Available in 90, 100, 110,
or 120mm extensions.
I also have 80 and 130mm stems in Black, with a 7
degree rise. If you want to spec one of these stems,
just note it in the Comments section of the order
form. There is no upcharge.

Cro-moly Brazed/Lugged Stem
This is a unique, hand brazed, lugged stem, that
was added primarily for the Special, to
compliment the brazed, lugged frame. However it
is available as an upgrade on the Classic or
Lightning as well. Made with 4130 cro-moly
extension, with investment cast steerer and
handlebar clamps, hand brazed construction. 0
degree rise (parallel to the ground), for 1 1/8"
threadless steerer tube and 26.0mm diameter
handlebar center section. Available only in 90,
100, 110 or 120mm extensions. Note, due to the
hand built nature of this stem, there is a $100
upcharge for this model from the standard
aluminum stem. Available in Black painted or
Chrome finish.
