" I looked at single speeds at the bike shops and nothing could be found in a quality steel frame that even comes close to the level of workmanship at this price point. I am not an expert, but I do most of my own maintenance. I also own six bicycles, priced from four thousand dollars to one thousand dollars each so I have a reasonable frame of reference. Nice to not be a rolling bill board for large corporations. I think the details on it, the quality of the welds and paint would be expected on a bike costing over three times as much."

There's nothing quite like hearing from people who are pleased with your product. One of the joys of selling fine bicycles is knowing that others get to experience the excitement and pleasure that I do when I ride a quality bicycle. Below are some comments from Wabi customers, from around the country (and beyond).
"I've been out a half dozen times on my Lightning and have to say, "less is more." I had recently been riding a high end, very expensive aluminum cross bike with a big name brand splashed all over the frame. Even with a carbon fork, it was stiffer than a brick and extremely uncomfortable. That cross frame alone cost as much as my Wabi Lightning complete bike. But the Lightning is faster: less weight and less fatigue have meant faster times on some of my measured rides even with only one gear. Its slightly smaller diameter tubes give me a feel for the road that reminds me of the old steel frames I used to use way back. Except that the Lightning is way lighter. In fact the frameset weighs only 4 oz more than my carbon road frame (which cost about 4x as much.) It has almost identical geometry to my carbon bike so that it handles like a good road bike should. (this was one of the main reasons I picked the Wabi over some other options.) I'm used to frames that look like moving billboards. But the Lightning is so clean that its got to be more aero. Except people keep stopping me to ask what that cool looking orange bike is.
From a happy customer- thanks"

"I received my new Lightning last Thursday and opened the package very carefully and there it was "THE BIKE".
It was even better looking than on your website, especially the paint job is looking very fine and the colour is perfect.
It was easy to assemble.
Unfortunately it was very very bad weather in Copenhagen on both Thursday and Friday so it was not until this morning that I took my first ride on the bike and I must tell you that I am more than satisfied - it was fast, smooth and very easy to ride.
I AM VERY SATISFIED."

"I am ecstatic to have found your site and get to ride this bike. (And yeah, I love the color and the missing logos. I ordered my Dean without a single decal!) Today I did a longer ride on my Dean, partially so she wouldn't get too jealous, but also so I could compare. Riding fixed is so different, and is so addicting. Yesterday I was going to go out just a bit more than the day before, but kept going just a bit more, and then just a bit more... It's not just about going forward... it's about the contact slowing down too. And a ton of other stuff. What is also clear is that any riding I do on the fixed will positively effect my road riding. I already feel the more than subtle engagement of muscle, and attention to how I go forward..."

"I just wanted to let you know that I received my new bike and it's AWESOME. After a test run around the neighborhood Wednesday night, I rode it to work and around town yesterday... Right out of the box, I could see things would be different with the LIGHTNING. This bike is exciting... and that says a lot.

Richard,
Let me start out by saying I'm no dummy. I did a lot of research and asked a lot of questions before buying your Classic frame. I am pleased to say I made the right decision. It arrived Thursday morning and from the minute I unwrapped it I knew I was in for a treat. I put it together and by noon I was tooling around the neighborhood tweaking this and that and trying different component combos to find the best fit, form and function. I was impressed first by the light weight, as is everyone else I've shown it to so far. One guy in our group was doubting the fact it was actually Reynolds 725, until he picked it up and rode it over a stretch of cracked pavement. He promptly shut his hipster mouth after that. I even had to take a link out of my chain to fit the new geometry with the shorter chainstays. My rear tire is now wonderfully sucked up to within 4mm of the seat tube, with about the same clearance at the rear brake bridge. Instant power transfer. The geometry is racy, but not uncomfortable and my normal 10 mile (each way) commute into downtown San Antonio (not renowned for its pavement maintenance) was done with ease. The steel is lively and responsive without being twitchy or bouncy. The integrated headset is very solid and smooth and, though I was sad to give up my beloved Chris King headset, I am really liking the clean look the head tube has without headset cups. Speaking of clean, the welds, rear drop-outs and flat crowned lugged fork are just that. I know only more miles will tell the story, but first impressions say a lot and this bike had me at hello. I want to thank you for being one of the few bike dealers who are actually providing a quality, above average product for an extremely reasonable price. These days I halfway expect to see fixies in the bike section of Wal-Mart, so to offer this degree of quality, both raw materials and frame detail, for such a bargain price is out of the ordinary to say the least. I have had several people inquire about it at the local coffee shop and actually write the brand name down, once they actually found the decals, that is. The understatement of the decals and the excellent paint finish are right at home with my Deep Vs, Campy track cranks, and NJS saddle and bars. Thank you for your prompt delivery of an exemplary product and I am looking forward to my first thousand miles on it.

"It’s been about 3 weeks or so since I bought my Wabi Lightning through your site and I am enjoying it immensely. The transition to your fixie was like entering a whole new world. I just wanted to say thanks for building great product at a solid price, and that you’ve shaved many minutes off my daily 15 mile commute each way. It’s effortless.
The bike couldn’t be lighter and it has prompted me to cut a few pounds off my own weight so I can match appropriately. It handles great, is stiff where you want it, forgiving where you need it but most of all it’s REALLY fast and my new favourite pastime is smoking spandex-clad $5000 triathlon race bikes. Smug mode is set permanently to ‘on’ when they see an orange blaze go by in an astounding LACK of decals. So in summary – thanks man, the bike is legit."

Richard at Wabi Cycles is extremely professional and helpful. Very knowledgeable about his products and is also quite patient with assistance and answering my questions during the time I was researching the products and before I made a final decision. Very highly recommmended as a merchant and wonderful products too; much better than anticipated, I am very happy with all aspects of this transaction!

Got the new ride and i Love it!! the steel is so smooth. My riding roads are kinda bad, not the worst, but this frame smooths it like bondo. I have to admit, I was worried about component spes @ the price i paid, but i am completely satisfied. I weigh 215 lbs and as stronger type rider i was worried also about flexiness of the frame and wheels. One week of hillclimbs, sprints and maybe a couple curb jumps later and the wheels are true. I am very happy with my purchase, and i will ride this frame till it rusts away. Thank you very much for your service, and i will be a future customer as well.

Richard, My new Lightning arrived yesterday and far sooner than I'd expected. Everything was in perfect shape after its long trip to New Jersey and my new bike went together very quickly. The quality of the Lightning was far above my expectations and it is very evident that every component was selected with great care (& IMHO far above my well- regarded Swobo Sanchez).

"Love riding it. What am I going to do with my Merlin?"
Seth, NJ Wabi Classic owner
"I am liking it more and more. My other fixies seem slow and uncomfortable compared to the Wabi. You nailed it! The fixed-gear thing in general has reinvigorated my interest in cycling over the past couple years. And a good bike like the Wabi makes it all the more fun."

"I got out today and put in some saddle time on the Wabi Classic and all I can say is WOW. The feel and performance of the bike was fantastic, smooth and precise steering, great pedal response and the frame and fork absorbed vibration along the rougher sections of the road as well as some of the most expensive steel frame-sets. I love steel myself and all I can say is Richard you got it right with the Classic. I felt like a kid all over again on this single speed and it added a delight to the ride today that just plain made me happy, so thank you again for having a product that makes you glad you spent the money every time you ride it down the road."

"The Classic blows the Langster away in ride and fit and finish Hee Hee!!!"
